About

There is something inside of us that draws us outward towards nature and inward towards meaning. In Frankl’s Man’s Search for Meaning, he lays out a definition that I think fits for the simultaneous pull:

“When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.”

This tearing feeling which is inherently human is the reason behind the purpose of the writing and photos on this page. In the 21st century, we are inundated with knowledge about what is out there, including but not limited to the good, the bad and the ugly. There are wild places of powerful natural beauty and corners of the world with vibrant tradition and culture. But of course, amidst it all there is inequality, injustice and local and global challenges. I Am Andy Paul is my effort as a human to share with you  a synthesis of understanding our planet, our roles and how we interact with it and each other.
